Trauma Therapy
Your past does not determine who you can be.
Trauma Therapy
Live the life you desire no matter what happened in your past.
What is Trauma?
Trauma occurs when a person is overwhelmed by events, circumstances or extreme stress and responds with intense fear, horror, and/or helplessness.
It's normal to have upsetting memories, feel on edge, or have trouble sleeping after this type of event. If symptoms last more than a few months, it may be Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
There are no big or small traumas it is all about how you have processed a disturbing event.
If a childhood trauma or past disturbing event or multiple events are negatively affecting you then that is a big trauma for you.
What Can Lead to Trauma
ABUSE Sexual, Physical, Psychological, Neglect, Domestic Violence, Bullying, Racism
DEATH, LOSS, PHYSICAL ILLNESS OR INJURY death of a loved one, divorce, separation, abandonment, betrayal, chronic health problem, diseases, physical injuries, addiction, foster care, parent in prison, addiction
CATASTROPHIC EVENTS War, natural disasters, car accidents, school shootings, mass violence
How I Help
In addition to traditional therapy, I use Clinical Hypnotherapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) to provide trauma therapy that helps you to process and heal from your past.
Clinical Hypnotherapy is the process of deliberately entering a relaxed trance state and then encouraging helpful thinking for emotional, or physical healing. A trance is a natural state of inner concentration and focused attention.
Clinical Hypnotherapy can help you change attitudes, perceptions, and behaviors. It can be effective in treating a range of psychological issues including anxiety, depression, and trauma.
With EMDR therapy you will be able to confront those past events that have you stuck faster than you thought possible.
EMDR therapy helps you process and heal from your trauma. It might look a bit strange or funny but it works.
EMDR therapy can address your past traumatic experience without you needing to retell all the gritty details of what occurred plus there might be occasions when you are unable to recall the details but are still having trauma responses.
EMDR allows your brain to do what it was unable to do when the experience happened so that you are no longer triggered.
EMDR has a strict protocol and should only be performed by an EMDR Trained Therapist like myself.
Don't let your past keep you stuck. Live the life you desire no matter what happened in your past.
